Academic background: Beatriz Milz holds a PhD in Environmental Science. She is a researcher interested in topics such as water resources management, transparency and open data, environmental data science, and gender and the environment. She is currently conducting postdoctoral research at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC).
Scientific journals: Since 2018, she has been part of the executive team of the journal Ambiente & Sociedade. Since 2024, she has been a Software peer review editor at rOpenSci, and she is also part of the executive team of the Revista Diálogos Socioambientais.
Teaching: She is a certified tidyverse instructor by RStudio. She has experience teaching R in courses at Curso-R, at cebrap.lab, and in the Summer Program at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) – University of São Paulo (USP).
Communities: Since 2018, she has been a co-organizer of R-Ladies São Paulo. She is also a GitHub Star, a recognition by GitHub for individuals who are technical experts and community leaders who share their knowledge. As of 04/09/2024, there were only 73 GitHub Stars worldwide, and only 8 of them in Brazil.
